About Us Serving communities to get things done.

Why Minnwest?

Trust a family-owned banking operation that knows first-hand the challenges and risks you face and is committed to putting their customers first. We’re big enough to get big deals done and small enough to truly listen and work with you as you work toward your goals. Most importantly, we're building lasting relationships with doers like you. Our customers are our first priority. At Minnwest Bank, we don't just say our customers come first, we live and breath it. That's our commitment to you.

Committed to Relationships First

At Minnwest Bank, we build relationships with doers — the people who start with a dream and are committed to turning it into reality. We know relationships don’t come easy. We believe they start with handshakes, continue with conversations and take a shared commitment to withstand the test of time. We believe they develop between people — like you and us — who are receptive and responsive and have shared values.

At Minnwest Bank, we are committed to diversity and inclusion in all that we do — from our workplace, to our communities and to our customers. We understand that each one of our customers has unique goals and needs. We respond with flexibility, creativity and a commitment to serve those needs, and by extension, to serve our communities.

A Personal Touch

Minnwest provides service on a personal level. When you contact us, we’ll be here to provide an answer. We take pride in helping Minnesota and South Dakota communities and businesses expand and innovate.

Honoring Our Roots

Through good times and bad, Minnwest has been here serving and steadfastly supporting its communities. We founded Minnwest Bank during the 1987 farm crisis because we recognized how important a community bank is for a community to thrive. Like many of our customers, we are a family-owned business, and we keep long-term commitments.

As our customers grew and expanded to urban areas, so did we. We are now one of Minnesota’s largest banks with more than $1.6 billion in assets and 24 locations, and we are here to serve communities throughout Minnesota and South Dakota. Wherever we go, our commitment remains the same. We start relationships with handshakes. We deliver personal service. And, we generate growth for you, your family and your business.

Community Statement

Since our beginning, Minnwest Bank has been dedicated to community involvement and customer service. Our interest in serving our customers and communities goes back to our inception over 30 years ago and was inspired by our founder, M.D. (Pete) McVay and is shared by our 350 plus employees that are dedicated to building and sustaining our local communities.

Our support of communities comes in a variety of forms and includes volunteer work, philanthropic giving, corporate programs and educational events with a focus on the underserved, under privileged, child welfare and child education.

Building and supporting our communities is at the core of who we are.
