Ag Banker Trainee
Location: Slayton or Luverne, MN
This entry level position is responsible for learning and conducting basic ag credit analysis activities for Minnwest Bank and affiliates related to less complex credit relationships. This position is for candidates with either no prior banking experience or prior banking experience in other departments. With a steep learning curve, expectations for the position will be presented through a detailed orientation program to help learn basic credit skills and generally what is expected from the candidate. The candidate will be responsible for providing meaningful analysis of financial statements and of business and economic trends that impact borrowers. Candidates will learn to evaluate credit risk by spreading and analyzing borrower financial statements for initial underwriting credit presentations and ongoing annual reviews. Candidates will be responsible for conducting routine account monitoring, including covenant tracking, borrowing base analysis and analysis of interim financial performance. Both positions will be responsible for the growth and sales of deposits and all cash management services with the goal of increasing deposits, expanding relationships, and generating additional fee income. The positions are outward facing with an expectation of being out of the office networking, serving clients, making connections and developing prospects/business leads.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, performance management, and budgeting for the department.
